As the sun beats down relentlessly on the bustling marina in Las Palmas, the atmosphere is charged with excitement as more ARC and ARC+ boats make their way into port. The pontoon is a hive of activity, with crews feverishly preparing for the impending Atlantic crossing. It’s been a whirlwind of boat jobs – from engine services to sail checks – all under the scorching 40-degree heat. If there’s one thing hotter than the weather, it’s the anticipation building up for the adventure ahead.

She had some leave days to burn and a ticking gift certificate for a travel agency, so naturally, Las Palmas became her impromptu destination. It’s not every day you get to escape the Icelandic chill to bask in the Canary Island warmth.
