“Soggy Adventures and Shopping Sprees: Surviving the Great British Deluge ☔”

Hey there, fellow rain-dodgers! Are you ready for the quintessential British summer experience? It’s been a solid 40 days of rain here (end of July), and I swear if Mother Nature were a person, she’d have a pretty wicked sense of humour. But hey, let’s make the most of it!

Imagine waking up, hoping for a glorious sunrise, but instead, you’re greeted by the soothing sound of raindrops tap-dancing on your window. 🌧️ You step outside, umbrella in tow, only to realize that England has turned into a waterlogged wonderland. But hey, who needs dry socks anyway?

We’ve had days where it felt like the sky was on a continuous ‘refresh’ mode. Non-stop rain is our new jam. 🎶 And just when you thought it couldn’t get any crazier, the wind joins the party, doing its best impression of a hurricane. Hold onto your hats!

I mean, it’s July, not November or March. How on earth has it rained so much in England? Meanwhile, our friends across the channel are sweating through heatwaves, and some places are battling forest fires like they’re auditioning for an action movie.

So, while I’ve been stuck indoors, dodging raindrops like they’re fiery meteors, I decided it was high time for a grocery shop expedition. 💳

I embarked on a 4-hour online shopping adventure, a quest that involved picking out recipes for the weeks ahead. When the virtual dust settled, my shopping cart had amassed a bill of £300! 😱 Here’s to hoping I’m not the world’s most expensive chef.

Now, the plan is to make this food stash last us two months, or until we reach the Canary Islands. If we have any unexpected guests onboard, it might last a bit less. But, fingers crossed, my culinary skills and budgeting prowess will shine. 🍔🍝

Two days later, the food delivery arrived, and I’m pretty sure the delivery person thought I was running a secret restaurant. It took me and my trusty sidekick, Ian, two full trolleys and hours of sorting to stow it all away. 😅🛒

So, there you have it – the tale of soggy adventures and a shopping spree that could rival a royal banquet. Stay tuned as we journey from England to the Canary Islands, armed with an epic food stash that could rival any treasure chest! ⛵🌴

Stay dry and keep those rain boots handy, my fellow rain warriors! 🌧️🌂😄
